RIESZ s - EQUILIBRIUM MEASURES ON d - RECTIFIABLE SETS
Let A be a compact set in Rp of Hausdorff dimension d. For s ∈ (0, d), the Riesz s-equilibrium measure μs is the unique Borel probability measure with support in A that minimizes Is(μ) := " 1 |x − y|s dμ(y)dμ(x) over all such probability measures. If A is strongly (Hd , d)-rectifiable, then μs converges in the weak-star topology to normalized d-dimensional Hausdorff measure restricted to A as s...
متن کاملMINIMAL RIESZ ENERGY POINT CONFIGURATIONS FOR RECTIFIABLE d-DIMENSIONAL MANIFOLDS
We investigate the energy of arrangements of N points on a rectifiable d-dimensional manifold A ⊂ Rd′ that interact through the power law (Riesz) potential V = 1/r, where s > 0 and r is Euclidean distance in R ′ . With Es(A, N) denoting the minimal energy for such N -point configurations, we determine the asymptotic behavior (as N → ∞) of Es(A, N) for each fixed s ≥ d. Moreover, if A has positi...
متن کاملComment on D ∗ s → D s π 0 Decay
We calculate the rate for D s → Dsπ decay using Chiral Perturbation Theory. This isospin violating process results from π η mixing, and its amplitude is proportional to (md − mu)/ ( ms − (mu + md)/2 ) . Experimental information on the branching ratio for D s → Dsπ can provide insight into the pattern of SU(3) violation in radiative D decays.
متن کاملExtracting γ from Bs(d) → J/ψ KS and Bd(s) → D + − d(s) Dd(s)
A completely general parametrization of the time-dependent decay rates of the modes B s → J/ψ K S and B d → J/ψ K S is given, which are related to each other through the U-spin flavour symmetry of strong interactions. Owing to the interference of current–current and penguin processes, the B s → J/ψ K S observables probe the angle γ of the unitarity triangle. Using the U-spin symmetry, the overa...

We discuss higher-dimensional gravitational instantons by studying appropriate self-duality equations for the spin connection. In seven and in eight dimensions, the corresponding spaces admit a covariantly constant spinor and, consequently, have holonomies in G 2 and Spin(7), respectively. We find a non-compact solution to the self-duality equations in eight dimensions in which the self-dual sp...
